The Third Week of June had been planned long in advance to prepare for the Transport of the Archives from the Casa Generalizia. Indeed, for Several Months, all the Archives had been packed into Boxes by the Brothers of the Community.

The next Question was: how many Pallets would that represent and therefore how many Trucks to finalize the Transport to Ploërmel and Rennes? Hence the Organization of a “Pallet” Week.

For that we received Help from France.

Cousins of Brother Hervé Asse and a Team from Fic-Expertise from Rennes, Angers, Lyon, Paris, Marseille! Their Stay in Rome allowed both Manual Labor, but also Outings in Rome, and above all a Fraternal Life rich in Encounters.

One of the Big Challenges: Going down a Narrow Staircase, then going up 2 Staircases to Level Zero, carrying 2 Bulky Boxes (1.20m x 1m)!
That good Atmosphere meant that the Work was completed in 3 or 4 days: result 32 Pallets, therefore One Truckload.

Work Sessions alternated with Social Gatherings! …and it was hot!!! We had to fight against Dehydration!!!!
Then we would have to organize Another Truck with everything else: some Furniture and Household Appliances that we want to keep for the future General House; and above all the Archives from the Offices of the General Administration which would go to Rennes.
Those who are familiar with the Garage under the Generalate house can imagine the volume of the Pallets, since the Garage is entirely filled by the 32 Pallets.
As reported in the Latest Echoes of the General Council, at the Beginning of December: The Transfer of the General Archives to Ploërmel would begin, with a First Truck.
Mid-December: a 2nd Truck would join Rennes and Ploërmel for the rest of the move.
There’s still Work to be done!
