DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Lent 2026 and Celebration of the Funeral of Brother Aniuwe Dengbanda.

LENTEN EFFORT 2026: VISIT TO ORPHANAGES

On April 2nd, 2026, about a Hundred Student and Teacher Representatives from the Jean-Marie de la Mennais School Complex in Bunia visited Two Orphanages: St Kizito (run by the Sisters of Maternal Charity) and St Nicolas (run by the Sisters of Mary of Ingelmunster) to deliver the Various Lenten Collections (Money, Clothes, Shoes, Oil, Soap, Rice, etc.)

Pope Francis said in his 2025 Lenten message: “During that Lenten Season, God asks us to examine whether, in Our Lives, in Our Families, in the Places where we are… we are capable of Walking with Others, of Listening, of Overcoming the Temptation to become Entrenched in Our Self-Referentiality and to be concerned only with Our Own Needs. Let us ask Ourselves before the Lord if we are capable of Working Together… in Service to the Kingdom of God; if we have an Attitude of Welcome, with concrete Actions toward those who are near us and those who are far away…”

The Jean-Marie de la Mennais School Complex has clearly understood that Message from Pope Francis.
