The sixteen Daughters of Providence present at the General Chapter are living a sustained rhythm. Gathered at Châteauguay, Quebec, very close to Montreal at Manoir d’Youville, on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence, since May 12th, the Capitulants share some news.

” On Sunday, May 14th, the Chapter Hall took on a colourful look with the Daughters of Providence as soon as the Sisters installed panels representing the life of their sector. Through prayers and visual means, each of the Sisters’ communities is really present.

Secretaries and workshops. Sr. Yolande Béliveau was elected Secretary of the Chapter. Sister Louise Touchette and Luce Duchesneau are her two assistants. The delegates are distributed in three workshops, assuring the representativeness of the members of every country.

The life of the Congregation was presented to us through the reports of the Superior General and reports from every sector. Our animator, Sr. Yvette Bellerose invites us to listen to reports by noting four points of attention: questions to clarify, what we learnt, what surprised us, and steps for the future.

On Wednesday morning, Sr. Yvette guided us in an approach of Lectio Divina from an orientation of the Chapter 2014, Our mission in this world in movement.

News from Uganda. The report from Nebbi made us dive into the life of this community. In a video, Bishop Sanctus, Sr. Maria, Sr. Betty and Sr. Clotilda address messages to the members of the Chapter. Another video has touched us a lot, it is the ceremony of the entry into the Postulate by Felicity and Loice and into the Novitiate by Sabina and Resty. This guided tour, guided by our three Sisters, brought us much joy, while challenging us personally and as a Congregation.

The election of the new team of the General Council should soon take place.
The works of the Chapter are planned until May 25th when a reception is planned at the Brother’s Mother House of La Prairie.
