Here was an Update from Brother Roger Mikanipale of the Bunia Community:
“For the Past Few Days, the whole World has been Worried and Mobilized about the Ebola Virus Epidemic that has emerged in Our Country, the Democratic Republic of Congo, specifically in and around the City of Bunia, in Ituri Province. Given our Presence there, as a Community and School, many of Our Colleagues and Members of the Wider Mennaisian Family are Wondering what was Happening here”

For the moment, Our School, Complexe Scolaire Jean-Marie de la Mennais, seemed to have been Spared, as no Cases of Infection have been reported among either Students or Staff. So far, we have followed the Guidelines we have received, carefully applying all the Preventative Measures recommended by the Health and School Authorities, such as Handwashing, Temperature Checks, Social Distancing, and Wearing Face Masks. Concern was growing, however, as it appears the Disease was discovered Late. Our Students were beginning their End-of-Year Exams that Monday, May 25th, 2026.”
