Uganda – Nabinoonya: General Council Session

All the Brothers of the General Council met in Nabinoonya on August 29th to begin the Ordinary Session of the General Council on Monday, August 31st. That General Council would take place in two parts: from September 2nd to 4th in Uganda, and then it would continue in Rome from September 14th to 30th.

Between those two periods, the General Conference of Major Superiors of the Congregation would be held from September 5th to 11th, during which the Centenary Celebration of the Brothers’ Presence in Uganda would take place on September 5th .

Those familiar with Nabinoonya would recognize that it is probably difficult to find a better Place for Rest, Reflection, and Fellowship. A Paradise situated on the Shores of Lake Victoria, a veritable Cathedral of Greenery, where Humans and Animals live in perfect Harmony, to the Delight of all!

Let us remember that Nabinoonya means: where the Virgin comes to take Care, and even more literally “who comes to Seek Remedies to Heal”!

On Monday, August 31st, the General Council had the pleasure of welcoming the Archbishop of Kampala and the Provincial Team of the Province of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus. A Fraternal, Simple Meeting, marked by Trust and Fraternal Exchange.

Every day, one of Kisubi’s Chaplains makes himself available to come and Celebrate the Eucharist! No need for us to travel! What a Blessing!

The Brothers of the General Council warmly thank the Province of Uganda for offering such a Welcoming Space, truly conducive to Congregational Meetings which we hope would be Fruitful for all.
