The “Session 2026” Group in Josselin, at the Foot of the Castle
Since July 12th, 20 Young Brothers have arrived in Ploërmel; obtaining Visas remains difficult for Our Three Congolese Brothers. Nine Brothers come from Uganda, One from South Sudan, Three from Rwanda, Three from Indonesia, Two from Haiti, One from Senegal, and One from Togo: A Wonderful International Mix complemented by the Team of Formators: Brothers Gildas Prigent, Vincent Ssekate, Hervé Asse, Rony Pierre, and Our Chaplain, Father Gerald Tebandeke, a Student in Rome. The Session Community would be complete once Our Three Congolese Brothers join us.

Welcome to the Mother House: Tuesday, July 14th at Noon, welcomed by the Mother House Community
As with every Session, the Brothers and Staff of the Mother House do everything possible to ensure a Warm and Fraternal Welcome. Our thanks go to the Province of Saint John the Baptist!
This Session of Preparation for Perpetual Vows is at the same time a Time of Formation, where through the contributions of the Mentors, sharing in Teams, Personal Reflections, Readings, each Brother is invited to revisit all Aspects of his Religious Life.
With a Brother Accompanying him, he also takes stock of where he is, after 6 or 7 years of Consecrated Life, on the Eve of an Important Act that would commit his Whole Life.

On Tuesday Evening, July 14th, there was an Opening Celebration and Prayer at the Tomb, with each person offering this Session and praying for one another.
It is also a Time of Pilgrimage to the Sources: The First Week was marked by Our Now Traditional Day spent in Josselin: First a friendly Meeting with the Senior Brothers of the Province of St John the Baptist; then a Visit to the Town including the First Main Novitiate bought by the Founders in 1822.

At the end of the First Week, there was a Pilgrimage to Auray: A Key Site for Mennais in the early days. In the Afternoon, a Short Walk led the Whole Group to Sainte-Anne-d’Auray.

Pilgrimage to Auray, and in the Afternoon Walk to St. Anne d’Auray
Sunday Evening, the 19th, would mark the Second Stage of the Session: A Three-day Retreat at Timadeuc Abbey—a Special Eime to encounter the Lord in Silence, Contemplation, and the Rhythm set by the Monks’ Prayers. And good News at the End of the Week: Our Three Brothers from Congo joined us just before Our Departure for Timadeuc! The Family is complete! We are now 28!
More News coming in early August!
