HAÏTI : Pétion-Ville : Annual Retreat of the Province of Saint Louis de Gonzague

From August 2nd to 9th, 2026, the Brothers of Christian Instruction of the Province of Saint Louis de Gonzague gathered at the Juniorate in Pétion-Ville for their Annual Retreat. That important Time of Spiritual Renewal, Prayer, and Fraternity brought together 30 Brothers.

The Retreatants benefited from the remarkable Presence of Brother Hervé ZAMOR, Superior General of the Congregation, who’s active Participation and Fraternal Presence greatly enriched those Days of Grace.

Spiritual and Thematic Orientations

The Sermons and Meditations were led by Father Dominique MUSCADIN, OMI. Guided by the Central Theme: “Brothers, called to become Conformed to the Image of the Son!” the Participants were invited to Deepen their Religious Identity and their Commitment to following Christ.

Throughout the Week, the Interventions invited the Retreatants to:

  • Deepening Religious and Fraternal Identity: Rediscovering the Call to Walk in the Footsteps of Christ the Servant and Educator, the Perfect Model of Consecrated Life.
  • Conversion of the Heart and Imitation of the Son: Letting Divine Grace transform Inner Attitudes in order to faithfully reflect the Face of the Son in the daily Life of the Educational and Community Mission.
  • Silence and Contemplative Prayer: Nourishing Personal Dialogue with God through Daily Eucharistic Celebration, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Meditation followed by the Word of God.

At the Heart of his Teachings, the Preacher also developed an in-depth Reflection on the Three Vows of Consecrated Life:

  • Chastity : Approached as a Testimony of selfless Love and total Offering to God and others, configuring the Religious to the Loving Heart of Christ.
  • Poverty : Presented as a Confident Detachment and Active Solidarity, inviting us to place all Our Security in the Hands of the Father.
  • Obedience : Reflected upon as Attentive Listening and Surrendering oneself to the Divine Will, following the Example of the Son who obeyed even unto the Cross.

Closing Remarks and Words of Thanks

The Retreat concluded on Sunday, August 9th, 2026 with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration of Thanksgiving.

At the end of the Closing Fraternal Meal, Brother Géniaud LAUTURE spoke to express his Gratitude on behalf of all the Participating Brothers. He offered Heartfelt Thanks:

  • To Father Dominique MUSCADIN, OMI, for the Depth of his Teachings and his Spiritual Guidance.
  • To Brother Hervé ZAMOR, Superior General, for his Encouraging and Fraternal Presence.
  • To the welcoming Team at the Juvénat of Pétion-Ville and to all the Brothers for their Atmosphere of Prayer, Fraternity and Sharing throughout the Week.

Conclusion

That Annual Retreat allowed some of the Brothers present to Renew their Commitment and leave strengthened in their Educational and Evangelical Mission, Renewed in their Aspiration to become ever more “Conformed to the Image of the Son”.
