It was with great Joy and Hope that the Teachers of the Léonce Mégie School in La Vallée (30 in total) met on Tuesday, September 1st , 2026, for the Launch of the New School Year.
New School Year: New Challenge! That New School Year presents a new opportunity to do better, to correct what needs correcting, to consolidate what works well and, above all, to create the best possible conditions for each Student to learn, grow and flourish.
Every year since 2021, the Mennaisian Family Commission has provided valuable Support to School Headteachers by facilitating back-to-school meetings for Teachers. Over the years, this initiative has allowed for the Development and Deepening of the Mennaisian Dchool Theme, in connection with the Year’s theme, thus inviting all Staff Members to make our Schools places of Fraternity, Learning, and Human and Christian Growth.

In line with this year’s Educational Project, we have chosen to focus particularly on Classroom Management, highlighting the close link between Teacher Authority and the Quality of the Relationship they maintain with their Students. The goal is to foster a classroom Environment that is Safe, Supportive, and Challenging, in which each Student can find their place, learn, and progress.

Particular Attention has also been paid to Students experiencing the most difficulties. It is up to each Member of Staff to take to heart the Responsibility of leaving no Student behind, but to Seek, with Patience and Creativity, ways to support them in their Learning and Foster their Development.
The Meeting was not marked by any particular Celebration. However, at the start of the day, each Teacher received the new Prayer Booklet, which served as the basis for the Prayer Service to begin the School Year. This Booklet also serves as an Invitation to foster a more Prayerful Atmosphere in the Classrooms and to help Children become Images of Jesus.

With the School Year underway, it is up to each and every one of us to combine Professional Competence, Educational Requirements, and Attention to the most Vulnerable, so that our School truly remains a place where Children and Young People can learn, grow and flourish in all dimensions of their being.
Brother Lamy Dessalines, Director
We continue to hold in our prayers the entire Mennaisian Family of Haiti who continue in Schools to help young people and children grow despite all the difficulties of the Country.
