We had regretted his Absence at the Celebration of Perpetual Vows on August 23rd , but through Brother Damien, Bishop Anaclet, despite his fragile Health, agreed to receive us at his Home. We were deeply Honored and, above all, very Happy to see him again. Indeed, during each Stay in Rome, he usually Stayed at the Casa Generalizia. And for us, it was not only an Honor to receive him, but A Profound Joy to welcome a Friend of the Congregation.

That brief Visit to the Bishop’s Residence allowed us to Discover the Diocesan Church, its Services, the Cathedral, and the Magnificent Setting of the Bishop’s Residence, perched atop a Beautiful Hill. Before leaving, Bishop Anaclet blessed us, and we promised to Pray for him, for his Recovery, and that the Lord would restore his Strength and Health to continue his Pastoral Duties.

For us Visitors, it was certainly a Great Blessing to Discover that Marian Shrine in Rwanda, where the Virgin Appeared to 3 young Girls from Kibeho: discovering the History of Kibeho, Morning Eucharist at the Shrine… We continued with a Visit to a Large Biblical Center run by the Marian Fathers: impressive! A Truly Living Catechesis, a Rich Biblical Journey, a Summary of the Catholic Faith and the Teachings of the Church, all presented in a very Educational Way, through Panels, Photos, ¨Sketches, etc.

Getting to Kibeho meant a few hours by car, 8 to 9 hours… but it allowed us to discover Rwanda from the inside!
Return to Kigali
On the way back to the Capital where we were to spend the Night (the night before Our Early Departure from Kigali to Entebbe), Brother Damien had planned a Cultural Stop to discover the History of the Kingdom of Rwanda. In Nyanza, the Royal Hut where the Father of the last King lived during the Colonial Era still stands. The Last King—before the Abolition of the Monarchy upon the Country’s Independence—moved from the Hut to a Royal Palace more befitting his Rank and Responsibilities. We visited the Royal Hut, the huts of his Wives, and the New Royal Palace (though Photography was prohibited). During the Visit, we were able to get close to the Famous Royal Cows, renowned for their Majestic Horns! Visitors were invited to approach and touch their Horns (without fear!).
