On Sunday, February 12th, the Choir of the Sacred Heart and Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Institutions graciously offered the Public a Concert on the Theme of the Film “The Sound of Music”.
The Choirs of the Two Institutions first came together in 1990. At the Initiative of Brother Serge Larose, the Girls of Sacred Heart and the Boys of Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague joined forces to Celebrate the latter’s Centennial. Six years later, in 1996, Brother Joseph Bellanger invited the Maestro of the Sacred Heart Choir, Mr. Will Hodgson, to continue that Tradition on a Permanent Basis. And for the past thirty years, the Choir of the Sacred Heart and Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague Institutions have delighted Music Lovers.

Every year, she leads a Christmas Eve Vigil before Midnight Mass with appropriate Carols. Every year, she offers an hour of Meditation before Good Friday Service. Every year, she presents One or Two Concerts on a Special Theme for Music Lovers. Thus, on July 12th, 2026, she performed the Main Songs from the Film “The Sound of Music,” adding Famous Melodies from the Austrian Repertoire and even Flute Pieces from the Teaching Method of Madame Von Trapp.

Under the Leadership of Mr. Will Hodgson, the Choir has become One of the Most Renowned in the Country. And his Dedication does not stop at demanding yet relaxed Rehearsals but extends into Camps, Festive Days, giving a True Family Spirit to that Choir which brings together Students from both Institutions and even Former Members faithful for almost thirty years… not to mention those who have emigrated and who meet in Miami or Montreal to also give a Christmas Concert.
