From April 1st to 6th, 2026, the Community of Manatuto-East Timor had the Joy of Welcoming the Superior General and the Assistant Brother in charge of the East Timor Mission, Bro. Gildas Prigent.
That Visit, the First since Our Arrival, was very important for us as it was a Moment of True Discernment for the Future of the New Mission in Timor.
Welcome Ceremony
The Stay was packed with Activities: the Meeting with the Bishop of the Diocese of Baucau, Personal Meetings with the Brothers, and several Community Meetings to Discern together in a Synodal Manner, the Easter Celebrations, Visits, etc.
Easter Sunday, after Mass
The Stay, which began well with the Timorese-style Welcome Ceremony and the Celebration of Bro; Stéphane’s Birthday, ended well with a Relaxing Outing: a Tour of the City followed by a Visit to the Statue of Santo Antonio – Patron Saint of Manatuto – which overlooks the City from the Hill.
