SOUTH SUDAN: RIIMENZE – EASTER CELEBRATIONS AT OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION SCHOOL

Our Lady of the Assumption School is located in Riimenze, South Sudan. The Brothers of Uganda founded a Community there in 2013, in the Heart of a Poor Rural Region 40 km from the Town of Yambio. Working with the Christian community, they built Relationships with Families and the local Population, and opened a Primary School in 2018. The Challenge is to sustain this Educational Institution in a Country plagued by Instability. Today, more than 880 Students are enrolled, and as is common in East Africa, all are Boarders.

Holy Saturday was a quiet day. In the Evening we had the Vigil Mass which started at 4.00pm due to “Insecurity” in the Area.
