On January 27th, 2006, Brother Laurier Labonté passed away in San José, Philippines. Twenty years later, the Brothers present in the Philippines, the Novices, and the Young Men in Formation (Postulancy) gathered for a Mass in his honor at St. Anthony’s College in San José. The Community recited Lauds, praying the Office of the Dead, in memory of Brother Laurier.
In the afternoon, Novices and Brothers went to pray the daily Rosary at his tomb, led by a Novice, Brother Yano.

The photo was taken at the Cemetery, on the Grave of Brother Laurier Labonté… it was after the time of Prayer, hence the relaxed and casual atmosphere… but which also reflects, as in many countries, the closeness of the deceased and the living!

The following day, the LMBA (Mennaisian Laypeople) had a meeting at the Community, and together with Brother Mamerto, they went to his Grave.
“In this way, his Memory will be honored, and our Young People will know who Brother Laurier was, whose photo they see displayed alongside that of Brother André Poisson in the Community Hall.” (Brother Michel Gougeon)
