Like every year, the Plo\u00ebrmel Private Schools Brunch hike offered a Journey through time to the nearly 600 Participants it brought together. At the Helm of the Time Machine was the Traces d’Histoire Association<\/em><\/strong>, invited every year by the Organizers of the Brunch Hike (which combines Hiking, Discovery, and Tasting) to share its knowledge of Plo\u00ebrmel’s History<\/em><\/strong> with the Walkers. The 25 Members of Traces d’Histoire<\/em><\/strong> offered a truly Theatrical Reconstruction in Period Costumes to their Audience along the Hike Route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, that Sunday Morning, September 29th<\/sup>, 2025, after the Magic Formula, the Groups found themselves 200 Years back in time to relive the Installation of the Brothers of La Mennais. They first met Jean-Marie de La Mennais<\/em><\/strong> in 1824, when he arrived in the Grounds of the Mother House<\/em><\/strong>, then they discovered the Life of the Community in 1900, when it was at its largest. The opportunity to see that the Brothers practiced many Trades, including the Casting of Bells, or the Making of Violet-shaped Sweets, which the Children were even able to taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Must-see: the Astronomical Clock<\/em><\/strong>, a Jewel of Precision Watchmaking, listed as a Historic Monument, entirely Handcrafted by Brother Bernardin. The Journey ended with the Expulsion of the Brothers in 1904. A Historic Journey!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that Stroll through the Corridors of Plo\u00ebrmel time, Hikers could set off again on one of the two proposed Circuits (7 and 12 km), punctuated by Gourmet Breaks. A Route carried out in Ideal Weather Conditions thanks to the mobilization of 80 Volunteers from APPEL (Parents’ Association) of the Town’s Private Schools and College, <\/em><\/strong>and with the support of Numerous Partners. All Tastings were prepared with Organic and Local Products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
