The \u201cBig Family\u201d at the Scholasticate of Abidjan<\/em><\/p>\n

“We shared with you some News from the Scholasticate at the start of that Formation year and the Resumption of the Academic Year at the C\u00e9laf Institute. (African Lassalian Center)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Holidays were over, we’re back in Abidjan! Well, almost all of us! Brothers L\u00e9opold and Alexandre<\/em><\/strong> are still on Vacation in Senegal. They would be joining us in a few days.<\/p>\n

Brother Jean Gr\u00e9goire Coly<\/em><\/strong>, Formator of the FSG (Brothers of St. Gabriel), has just left for Senegal for the Provincial Chapter and the Council Session of which he is a member. He would be away for 3 Weeks. The First-year Scholastics<\/em><\/strong> have arrived safely from Dapaong, after their Profession. Well, almost all of them! Brother Jean-Gilles Makenson <\/em><\/strong>remained in Lom\u00e9 for Medical Reasons. The latest News is that he is doing much better. We hope he would join us soon!<\/p>\n

First-year Scholastics (missing Br. <\/em>Jean-Gilles Makenson)<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition to the 7 FIC Scholastics, and FSG Scholastic, Brother Dieu Merci<\/em><\/strong>, is also among us. He has just finished his Novitiate in Thi\u00e8s. Brother Emmanuel Lapay<\/em><\/strong> from Congo DRC has not yet received his Passport. We hope he would join us soon. As a result, we would be, 29 Brothers in Total<\/em><\/strong> at the Scholasticate (and one Priest, Father Franklin),<\/em><\/strong> including 4 Brothers of Saint Gabriel!<\/p>\n

The Academic Year at C\u00e9laf began on Monday, September 8th<\/em><\/strong>, in a Joyous and Studious Atmosphere. A Meeting for the Old Students, and a Discovery for the New Ones! Following that, at the Scholasticate, our Back-to-School Recollection was held on Saturday, September 13th, 2025<\/em><\/strong>, in Abatta<\/em><\/strong> at the Eudist Fathers’ Home. Brother Jean Herbini\u00e8re<\/em><\/strong> offered us a Beautiful Spiritual Reflection on the Theme of the year, inviting us to make Fraternal Life Our Compass!<\/p>\n

Prayer during the Day of Recollection.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Day after the Recollection, we celebrated the Opening Mass together, followed by a Fraternal Meal between the two Communities of the Scholasticate; Moments of Reunion, of Mutual Understanding! Brother Bruno Djukal\u00e9ma<\/em><\/strong>, Delegate of the Superior General in Congo DRC, was visiting us; he shared Our Joy and gave some Recommendations to the Scholastic Brothers.<\/p>\n

So here we go for this New Year where Fraternity was called to manifest itself under the Colors of Interculturality in a Community where Togolese, Beninese, Senegalese, Congolese, Rwandans, Haitians, French, Chadians (Our Chaplain) and Malagasy live.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
