Feast of Consecrated Life in Baucau, February 2nd<\/sup> , 2025<\/em><\/p>\n

Brothers St\u00e9phane Le Pape and Philippe Douti arrived in Dili (East Timor) about 3 Weeks ago. They were welcomed by the Fathers and Brothers of the Society of the Divine Word in Dili and have started learning Tetum.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cSince our arrival in Dili, we have had the opportunity twice to visit Baucau. Baucau is the Second Largest City in Timor-Leste. It is also where the Seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Baucau is located, the Diocese where we would begin the Mennaisian Mission.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first time we went there was to begin the Process of Obtaining a Missionary Visa and the second time was to meet the Religious men and women of the Diocese.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In Baucau, we were welcomed the first time by the Salesians and the second time by the Marists.<\/em><\/p>\n

At the Meeting of the Religious men and women, we were Briefly Introduced: \u201cirm\u00e3os menesianos\u201d (FICP)!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Since M<\/em>onday, February 3rd<\/sup>, we have resumed the Rhythm of Our Tetum Classes. Learning a New Language is always a Challenge, but little by little, we are beginning to speak in Tetum and to exchange with those we meet.<\/em><\/p>\n

Above all, we need to get used to the humid heat of Dili!\u201d (Brother St\u00e9phane)<\/em><\/p>\n

“Timor-Leste, now Our New Homeland! A beautiful Country of Mountains, Beaches… A brave, welcoming, warm people, but of course with their challenges. We rub shoulders every day with these people in Public Transport, at Mass, at Sports, in Class, in the Streets… And a Look, a Smile, a Gesture, a Word, everything is <\/em>C<\/em>ommunion. We adapt and gradually enter into the Culture! Na’i horik ho ami! (The Lor<\/em>d is with us!) (Br Philippe)<\/em><\/p>\n
