This September 8th<\/sup> events took a Historic turn for the Daughters of Providence of St-Brieuc. The Congregation celebrated the opening of a Uganda sector, after that of France, Canada East, Canada West and England. Official permission to open a Community and a Formation House in Nebbi, Uganda was granted by the Local Bishop. Explanations<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a celebration in the chapel of the Sisters’ community, Bishop Rapha\u00ebl P’Mony Wokorach of Nebbi accepted with joy the Sisters’ formal request for a community in his diocese. Several \u201cwitnesses\u201d of this event were present: the Vicar General, the Chancellor, the Diocesan Bursar who is also, for the moment, the Chaplain of the Sisters, the Vicar of the Religious and Brother Adolph, Superior of the FIC Community in Nebbi and who was present as the delegate of Bro. Casio, the Provincial. Sister Sabina, who is studying in Kampala, travelled to Nebbi to participate in this important moment in the process of integration with the community.<\/p>\n

At last May\u2019s General Chapter in Locquirec, Finist\u00e8re, France, the Daughters of Providence accompanied by Bro Yannick Houssay, Apostolic Administrator, had accepted the principle of welcoming young women from Nebbi; the latter had been in training and accompaniment with the sisters for years.<\/p>\n

After the celebration, we shared in a moment of conviviality: an aperitif cake before the main meal, animation prepared and led by our young people and a welcome presentation. Our time together then concluded with lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a month off, the students returned to Class on September 5th,<\/sup>2022. The Sisters have a lot to do. Fortunately, they can also count on responsible Teachers to keep the School running.<\/p>\n
