Bro Albert Tremblay died after a very short period of comfort care following a heart weakness the previous night.<br \/>\nHe left peacefully, having had the opportunity to see his sister the day before\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He was in his 100th year of life. At 99 years ,he was the 7th Successor of Father de La Mennais.<\/p>\n<h2>Appointments<\/h2>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-32107\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-1024x771.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"648\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-1024x771.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-768x578.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-1536x1157.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-2048x1543.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ok-260x196.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Born in Saint-F\u00e9licien (Roberval, Quebec), on August 17th \u00a0\u00a0, 1922, the young Albert Tremblay attended the Dolbeau School, opened in 1930 by the Brothers of Christian Instruction.<\/p>\n<p>In 1935, he entered the Juv\u00e9nat of Pointe-du-Lac, and in August 1938, still at Pointe-du-Lac, he took the Religious habit and began his Novitiate, under the name of Bro L\u00e9onard-Albert.<\/p>\n<p>After a few years of teaching, he was appointed Teacher in 1945 at Pointe-du-Lac Scholasticate.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32115\" style=\"width: 870px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32115\" class=\"wp-image-32115 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"860\" height=\"645\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-2048x1536.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P9247725-260x195.jpg 260w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 860px) 100vw, 860px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>The Juv\u00e9nat of Dolbeau <span class=\"sentence-wrapper_without-hover ng-star-inserted\">was the subject of much attention from Bro Albert.<\/span><br \/><\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>In 1949, he became Founding Director of the Juv\u00e9nat of Dolbeau, established in the Main House of the recently founded Saint-Jean District. He made his Second Novitiate in Jersey in 1953-54, and in the autumn of 1954, he entered the Gregorian University in Rome.<\/p>\n<p>Back to Canada in 1961, he took charge of the Scholasticate, first at Pointe-du-Lac, then at Cap-Rouge when the \u00c9cole Normale Notre-Dame de Foy, an Intercommunal Institution, opened.<\/p>\n<p>In 1966, he became Visitor of his District of origin. Shortly afterwards he was elected Vice-President of the Canadian Religious Conference and President of the Federation of the Educator Brothers of Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32109\" style=\"width: 255px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32109\" class=\"wp-image-32110 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P-75-I.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"245\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P-75-I.jpg 245w, https:\/\/www.lamennais.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/P-75-I-243x300.jpg 243w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 245px) 100vw, 245px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32109\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Elected Superior general of the Congregation in 1970.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>On February 27<sup>th<\/sup>, 1970, the Chapter elected him Superior General of the Congregation. Upon his discharge from office in 1982, Brother Albert Tremblay became a Missionary in Congo-Zaire where he took care of the Formation of young Brothers and Seminarians as a teacher of Theology.<\/p>\n<p>A progressive blindness forced him to leave this charge, but did not prevent him from investing himself in the Pastoral care of the Diocese of Dolbeau. Bro Albert Tremblay, Former Superior General: <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>\u201cThink of School and other Educational places\u201d<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Former Superior General from 1970 to 1982, Bro Albert Tremblay, 100 years old the next August, in the Residence at the Mother House of La Prairie, Quebec-Canada, gave his encouragement on the occasion of that Chapter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time of this new General Chapter, I hope that the Chapter will live an attitude of faith in the future and above all an openness to the concept of the charism not only centered on School.
