\u201cWe share this extraordinary message from Bro Ernest P\u00e2quet, who made Bethany Nursing Home, in Canton, Ohio, USA, his home, his new <\/i><\/b>C<\/i><\/b>ommunity and his place of <\/i><\/b>M<\/i><\/b>ission,\u201d said Bro Mario Houle, Provincial of Canada-USA and Mexico. <\/i><\/b>\u201c His text is full of life, faith and hope in <\/span><\/i><\/b>during th<\/span><\/i><\/b>e time of Easter\u2026 and notice what an extraordinary pen he has kept!\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear All,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Ever since the pandemic lockdown began, I have missed going to <\/strong>C<\/strong>hurch on weekends and receiving my Lord in <\/strong>Holy<\/strong> C<\/strong>ommunion. Indeed, I was confined to my room with my good roommate.\u00a0 But for worship, we watched the elaborate Sunday <\/strong>Masses<\/strong> on EWTN (Mother Angelica’s <\/strong>W<\/strong>orld-wide TV <\/strong>S<\/strong>atellite <\/strong>B<\/strong>roadcast), and for <\/strong>W<\/strong>eekdays the simpler <\/strong>Masses<\/strong> of Saint Hilary Parish (a dozen miles away), live-streamed onto my laptop. Each source had the <\/strong>Pr<\/strong>iest lead us in a prayer for “<\/strong>S<\/strong>piritual <\/strong>C<\/strong>ommunion” at the end of <\/strong>M<\/strong>ass.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Needless to say, that prayer did not begin to allay my hunger for <\/strong>Holy C<\/strong>ommunion.\u00a0 Imagine my surprise when yesterday a Staff member brought to my room <\/strong>Holy <\/strong>Communion:\u00a0 Christ our Savior Himself embraced us with <\/strong>H<\/strong>is love by that Sacrament!\u00a0 After all those months! <\/strong><\/p>\n

We too shall rise again to share in <\/strong>H<\/strong>is freely offered gift of Fullness of Life.\u00a0 <\/strong>So, dear relatives and friends, let us celebrate and give thanks for Easter!\u00a0 <\/strong>And thank God for the receding threat of the dread virus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

And, with Christ as our teacher and leader, let us help all the most needy around us (and beyond) with grateful and generous love.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wish you all the tremendous joy offered graciously by God, the God of Life!\u00a0 <\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

With the progress here in Bethany Home, thanks to the vaccine, this Godly visit will be brought to the Catholics among us in our rooms every week.\u00a0 Alleluia! We may soon also resume our monthly <\/strong>Masses<\/strong>, with similar service for Protestant residents\/staff, <\/strong>P<\/strong>astors from nearby <\/strong>C<\/strong>hurches coming to us.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Tomorrow we celebrate the greatest miracle of human history, when God had the last word raising his Son from death, to die no more, and to guarantee that. Easter celebrates Resurrection. Faith in that is a gift, worth asking for.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>I wish you all the tremendous joy offered graciously by God, the God of Life!\u00a0 And thanks to all, for your love, your prayers for me, and thanks for many <\/strong>B<\/strong>eautiful <\/strong>C<\/strong>ards, which, I regret, <\/strong>but<\/strong> I cannot reciprocate.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
