During the Vigil of the World Youth Days WYD in Panama, pope Fran\u00e7ois intervened on Saturday, January 26th<\/sup> after listening\u00a0 the testimonies of several young people.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0What Jesus gives us is an invitation to be part of a love story interwoven with our personal stories; it is alive and wants to be born in our midst so that we can bear fruit just as we are, wherever we are and with everyone all around us. \u00a0The Lord comes there to sow and to be sown. \u00a0He is the first to say \u201cyes\u201d to our lives, he always precedes us.\u00a0 He\u2019s the first to say yes to our history, and he wants us to say \u201cyes\u201d along with him. (\u2026)<\/p>\n

The Lord\u2019s love is greater than all our problems, frailties and flaws.\u00a0 Yet it is precisely through our problems, frailties and flaws that he wants to write this love story.\u00a0 He embraced the prodigal son, he embraced Peter after the denials and he always, always, always embraces us whenever we fall: he helps us to get up and get back on our feet.\u00a0 Because the worst fall, and pay attention to this, the worst fall, that can ruin our lives, is to remain down and not allow ourselves to be helped up. (\u2026)<\/p>\n

We know well that to feel acknowledged or loved it is not enough to be connected all day long.\u00a0 To feel respected and asked to get involved is greater than simply being \u201con-line\u201d.\u00a0 It means finding spaces where, with your hands, your heart and your head, you can feel part of a larger community that needs you and that you yourselves, young people, need. (\u2026)<\/p>\n

\"\"To be an \u201cinfluencer\u201d in the twenty-first century is to be guardians of roots, guardians of all that prevents our life from dissipating and evaporating into nothingness.\u00a0 You, older people, be guardians of everything that can make us feel part of one another.\u00a0 Guardians of all that which makes us feel that we belong.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
