1969 : GISENYI. The brothers take charge of the Inyemeramihigo college, a technical, agricultural and housework center.

1975 : RAMBURA. The present college has mainly an agricultural vocation. But , in 1983, completely rebuilt, the institution changes completely and becomes a technical secondary school providing 4 choices: literature, maths, biochemistry and a regular technical department. In 1972, the college being in full expansion, the brothers are requested to leave, and the management of the college becomes the parish priest’s responsibility.

1981 : NYUNDO. The noviciate, which started at Rambura in 1975, is transferred to Nyundo in November 1981. People will have to wait five years before new premises are inaugurated.

1981 : BUTAMWA. In this place, Bro. François Cardinal is the kingpin of the center of a rural formation. On November 29, 1992, he is killed by a group of soldiers, no doubt about it, sponsored by a high-ranking officer...

1992 : KIRAMBO. Expelled from Rambura, the brothers open a college at Kirambo.
1994. The assassination of the President, General Habyarimana, is the starting point of the systematic massacre of the Tutsis by the Hutus. Years will be necessary to the country to rise from this genocide.

After a temporary withdrawal, the Canadian brothers, as well as the surviving Rwandan brothers, come back to Kirambo and Gisenyi. They start restoring the devastated buildings. Today, Kirambo, rebuilt and enlarged with government money, has the status of a co-ed teacher training center. The renovated Nyundo center will welcome new aspirants.
