Larantuka, Florès Island
On January 2, 2000, four brothers ( 2 from Spain and 2 from France), leave Rome for the Florès Island, Indonesia. The local church, the bishop and other religious communities helping, they start an adventure, facing bravely the bends of administrative order, as well as the language mysteries and the customs of their adopted country.
In December 2002, the sudden death of Bro. Nicolas Mediavilla is a heavy lost for the new community. Since the 2003 new school year (beginning of July), the management of Darius College has been entrusted to the Florès community, Bro. Stephane Le Pape acting as the principal, and a new brother has arrived from Spain.An open house
Anxious to live like ordinary people, and to be open to all, the community receives children and young people for the animation of spare-time activities or awekening... The brothers are also involved in pastoral work. |
